Funding Options

Medicaid Funding

There are three ways you can qualify for funding through Medicaid:

CCC Plus Waiver

  • Must have an active CCC Plus waiver.
  • No age restrictions.
  • Must have a documented medical need for the equipment being requested (requires medical professional evaluation).
  • Must be actively utilizing a waiver service such as Personal Care, Respite, Companion.

EPSDT

  • Must be eligible for Medicaid.
  • Must be 21 years old or younger.
  • Must have a documented medical need for the equipment being requested (requires medical professional evaluation).

DD Waivers

  • Must be a recipient of one of the three DD waivers.
  • 21 years old and younger: AT accessed through EPSDT.
  • Over 21: AT, EM, and DME accessed through your DD waiver.
  • Must have a documented medical need for the equipment being requested (requires medical professional evaluation).

If you meet the above criteria, AU can process a request. Device funding is ultimately determined by an authorized agency designated by DMAS:

  • Kepro (EPSDT or Medicaid Fee For Service)
  • DBHDS (DD waivers)
    • For those on the DD waiver making a request, AU works with your assigned support coordinator.
  • MCO (CCC Plus waiver)
    • Aetna
    • Anthem
    • Magellan
    • Optima
    • Premier
    • United Health Care

Private Pay Funding

If you do not have Medicaid or have had trouble getting Medicaid funding, AU now takes private pay for Assistive Technology, Durable Medical Equipment, and Environmental Modifications.
